men are bidden home at the very beginning of work [[??]] that is important + interesting to them - they do not even ask porquay [[??]] [[strikethrough]] what [[/strikethrough]] . They do not for a moment [[strikethrough]] consider [[/strikethrough]] question the wisdom or necessity - they [[insertion]] will ^ [[/insertion]] go. Albert has gone [[insertion]] to live ^ [[/insertion]]home [[strikethrough]] to [[??]] [[/strikethrough]] in the Navajo country. Richard commences his Sundance, measuring the height of his figures, then going ahead to play with it, his rough pencil sketch upside down beside him for scarcely a reference. He sees that whole paucl [[??]] finished from the beginning. It is no wonder that he does not and cannot hurry. Velino [[??]] ponders over his huge paucl [[??]]. "I would like to turn it the long way and paint a buffalo stampede." But that upsets the scheme for the room - However Velino [[??]] has been wishing this thing from the first and he will get his way by his quiet judicious [[??]] method of gazing for hours at the paucl [[??]] + the sketch.
Comes a plea that paucls [[??]] be sent on a truck to San Ilde [[??]] - house, that Julian, Oqua Pa [[??]] Ioe [[??]] + others paint there. That is difficult - they have no paint or brushes, pallettes etc + and the [[strikethrough]] [[cannot read it??]] [[/strikethrough]] movies about gone. "I think to pain the buffalo black. To make them different from those in the dining room." You will have no trouble watching themdifferent from Oqua Pi [[??]] Buffalo stampede are similar but we all paint them differently"
Dr Hewell says Velino [[??]] is in bed at Jia [[??]] because he does not stay in the [[strikethrough]] [[cannot read this ??]] [[/strikethrough]] Pueblo. [[strikethrough]] Them [[/strikethrough]] Perhaps he should [[strikethrough]] [[cannot read this ??]] [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] and ^ [[/insertion]] paint there. But they will not allow him to to paint. [[strikethrough]] Do they feel that [[/strikethrough]] should printing [[strikethrough]] should [[/strikethrough]] be done only in the Kiras [[??]]? Dr Hewett's explanation is that for so many centuries they have worked in a communal spirit, that they are disturbed [[strikethrough]] and displayed [[??]] [[/strikethrough]] to find any man attempting to stand our from among his fellows. Notoriety for any member displeasures them. It displeases them whether he lives in the Pueblo or elsewhere. They want him there to keep him as one of their [[??]] group and not distinctive. To them the group may achieve the [[insertion]] entire ^ [[/insertion]] body must grow, and any member of it that sprouts and enlarges unduly is cancerous.

Sunday.Aug.14. Romaudo [[??]] + Ricahrd painting on Sunday to make up for losing tomorrow. Richard laid in all the whitse in his Sun [[??]] Dancers and the composition of whites gives a dancing sensation. The greens are now going in, and there is no fumbling, no indecision. Romaudo's [[??]] buffalo dance
Velino [[??]] is still drawing his buffalo hunt in charcoal and it occurs to me it is a great deal to expect of a man that he [[strikethrough]] take [[/strikethrough]] for [[??]] his first oil and his first large painting, so complicated

Transcription Notes:
I am having difficulty figuring out "Paucl" or is it "Panel" or "pouch?" this word comes up a lot in the page. There are also a lot of people's names that i am not sure if i've transcribed correctly.
