Sloan, Chapman, LaFarge very busy judging exhibits.  Dolly S. & myself working over lists and whatnot. One of the whatnots was an Aurer-woman who brought us three vases from Mexico "but do we have Mexican exhibits" "they are Indians as much as any others." "And all these paintings  [[strikethrough]] were they [[/strikethrough]] who did them?" (they were atrocious little oils) "I did - of the Indian country." But the frames are by Indians" "We made those of cactus" She was taking up good space we needed - we called an Indian agent & she was ousted -
