Sun. Aug. 28. In Mesa Verde Park today we were shown a ceremonial stone set into the side of the Sun temple which had served as a sundial in the year  1100?  for marking the summer & winter solstice. These people were driven from the beautiful cliffs with their thousands of ingenious dwellings, at that time, by [[insert]] some adversity [[/insert]] a severe drouth probably & and a number settled in the [[strikethrough]] "aztec"[[/strikethrough]] neighborhood whose ruins are now called Aztec - only a few miles away.
