fellowship available for a minority student to pursue a Master's degree in decorative arts offered by the Parsons School of Design and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum; and purchased copies of [[underlined]]Anna Cooper: A Voice from the South[[/underlined]] by Louise Hutchison of the Anacostia Neighborhood Museum for distribution to the historically black colleges. 

Special attention is being paid to developing relations with Howard University. Professor Joseph Harris, for ten years Chairman of Howard's history department, was in residence as a senior fellow in 1981-82. Professor Harris, now returned to his duties at Howard, has shown great interest in expanding cooperation through internships, faculty fellowships exhibit planning, etc.

In the small and selective program of summer management assistants administered for three years now by the Management Analysis Office, Howard University joins two other cooperating schools of business administration sending students to the Smithsonian. Prospects are good for at least one Howard student appointment this summer. 

Another new effort was begun when the Office of Personnel Administration participated in 1982 in the 12th Annual Career Fair of Bowie State,a predominantly black four-year college. To inform and attract students,occupational fact sheets in the following areas were developed and made available to the more than 200 students who visited the exhibit--accountants and auditors; conservators; museum technicians and specialists; museum education specialists; engineers; guards,
