Der Letzte der Mohikaner

Durch einen verräterischen indianischen Waldläufer geriet eine kleine Reisegesellschaft auf dem Marsche nach William Henry in die Gefangenschaft eines Indianerstammes. Bald stellte sich den Rothäuten der tapfere Jäger Falkenauge und der Mohikaner Chingackgook in den Weg. Ein furchtbarer Kampf begann. Endlich war die Niederlage der Indianer entschieden; nur der schlaue Fuchs und die große Schlange rangen noch miteinander. Im erbitterten Handgemenge wälzten sie sich auf der Erde bis Chingackgook dem Zweikampf ein Ende machte.
