Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Sunday,

Dear Grace;

This is to let you know where we are and that Jim recieved [[!]] the Granpa card which he loved. Poor Jim, he si [[!]] inarticulate, but youknow he loves you dear and is really sorry for his past mistakes. This damned typewriter is in the same condition I am, worn out.

According to the doctors, there is just about every thing wrong with me that could be. I am just ignoring them all and trying to carry on anyway. Enclosed is a copy of a letter recieved [[!]] from Jim's lawyer at Washington. I conducted all buisness [[!]] from my bed there, and hope and pray I have really stirred things up this time. I have made a copy of the letter you sent us, from Anadarko for we are trying to have a bill introduced now to release the annuity monies which are accumulated, according to Levi Jones, 355 East 7th St., Shawnee Okla. You might write to him, telling him you your plight and that you wish to get into the meelee. Also write rto our lawyer, Mr. Suraci at Washington.

Jim is now out to the sail boat races, on Lake Michigan, and he is to do a telecast this afternoon. He is supposed to be back here at I:00 so I can breif [[!]] and time him with the script. But one never knows, with Thorpe, bless his irresponsible heart.

Grace dear, I was so pleased to meet and know you. Your fine character and courage is inspriing [[!]]. Yes, by all means take advantage of evry [[!]]thing you can get under the G I bill, God knows the Government owes you all you can get and then more.

The weather here has been almost cold, a lot of rain etc., which doing my sinus and mastoids exactly no good. Gall bladder, liver kidneys, heart and whatnot. If I could jack up the old chassis and run a new one under it, all would be well. Take care of your health dear, it is your most precious possession. I do understand you problem. I too was left with two girls to rear and it is a fullntime [[!]] job, until you ide. [[!]] I am very unhappy about your martial situation and pray things will come about as you wish them to.

Write us here at the above address. The church bells are ringing. This is a nice down to earth town, not so many phonies and chislers, such as I refused to become accustomed to in California. It is my hope that I shall never have to return there.

If your Dad gets back, on time he will add a few lines. He loves you very much.

Bye for now with all good wishes to you Grace, Most affectionately,
