Dear Sir
Your of the 1st inst. informing me that my School report for the month of June had not as yet been received, was received this morning. And in answer must say that I forward you last months report, the 2nd of July, and also a report for night School, and I do not know why it is that you have not received them, In regard to keeping the School opened untill the first of Aug't. the Colored people want it kept opened untill then, and Say that they would [[strikethrough]] not [[/strikethrough]] rather not have it close then; they want me not to have a vacation at all. They manifest a strong desire to learn, and are in good Spirits relative to School matters, I have a good School and it keeps up well, and my Scholars learn very rapidly indeed. I think the whites are becomeing fully satisfied that they can learn, and that they ought to be educated; as well as themselves

The feelings of the whites towards Colored Schools, are much better now, than when I first came
