Acknowledges receipt of letter of the 16th inst. notifying him that his services as agent of the Bureau will cease on the 15th of August. 
States that the colored people manifest a deep interest in educational matters and wish to have him continue his school without any vacation. that they intent to build a school house and are expecting aid from the Bureau, but thinks they will not go on with it if he leaves them: that the people are too destitute to sustain the school themselves. Inquires upon what terms the Supt. of Education proposes to employ him if he remains
