My term (as coppyist) expires Saturday; and thus it leaves me in a strange place with nothing to do: I have been anxiously waiting for the return of Gen'l Howard, but understand he will not return until the middle of next month, being dependant upon myself cannot await his return. 

It was my intentions, of speaking to you before; but have been so busy, that the time here, could not be spared, to me; awaiting an answer.
