I take this opportunity of explaining the mistake I labored under when I sent for so large a quantity, and the advanced order of Books. I visited and was in converse with a number who spoke of their having been members of the school during the past term, and enlarged upon their superior attainments in a manner qualified to impress me very deeply. Just thinking that I would be in readiness for them, with Books suited to their superior ability I sent to you for those 2nd Readers, Elementary Spellers; when lo! I found after their entrance in the School, that they were unable to spell words of four letters. A fact which arises from their not having a sufficient amount of Spelling in any of those Books by Willson.
