My Dear Sir
I wish very much for the statistics of the Alexandria Schools for 1867 and 1868. I also wish I could find where & when schools were started there during the war. I have [[insertion]] prepared [[/insertion]] a sketch of things there before the war for fifty years in School (colored) matters. I was down there last week but found nobody who could tell me about the years to which I allude. In fact I found only two teachers & they could tell me nothing except the present condition of things.

I wish also a statement
