Woodville, Prince Geo. C'y.
Maryland, Jan 24th /69.

John Kimball, Esq.
Dear Sir

I crave your pardon for my delay in acknowledging your letter enclosing the Draft. I have been quite ill, and after my labors at school, I was unable to what I really desired. None of the merchants would cash my Draft. Mr. Douglass prevailed upon a friend of his Col. Bowling to advance the money upon it. - Otherwise I should have been compelled to return it.

Very respectfully yours,

P.S. I took the liberty of addressing you a few lines are they at hand
