Dear Sir

Permit me to inform you that I accept with pleasure your kind offer to place my means in the Savings Bank at Washington.

I should have communicated to you at an earlier day concerning the matter but being sorely dependent upon my salary for the many necessaries that it's impossible for my host to furnish, I did not know how I could dispense with it.

However I find it will be greatly to my advantage to deny myself and thereby some others may learn a useful  lesson.
