Trustees Colored School.

Represent that a school house, to be used for colored children, was commenced under favorable circumstances. Colored citizens subscribed $200 00 and the Bureau (R.F. & A.L.) donated a like amount to be used in constructing the building. The money promised by the Bureau having been paid, and believing the colored people would pay this subscriptions, Mr. [[underlined]] T.B. Robey [[/underlined]] had the building put up. The cost of it so far is $400. He has received the $200 from the Bureau, but only $41.50 from the people. They believe the disinclination to pay the money promised by the colored people arises from the fact that another school house is promised by the Bureau in the [[underlined]] same [[/underlined]] district the one now, under construction is situated; also that if the Bureau persists in constructing the other building, the one first commenced cannot be finished or paid for as the people most able to pay live in the immediate neighborhood of the proposed house. They also believe that one school is ample for the wants of the district.
