Robeys Town
Feb 1st 1868

We the undersigned appointed Trustees for the coloured School at Robeys Town in Prince Georges County Maryland

Do most respectffly represent that the building of the School House commenced in Augss last under very promising circumstances at the first two meetings of the coloured people Called for the purpose of arranging and raising funds to Build a school House on the land given to the coloured people for that purpose by Townley B. Robey Esq. The coloured people subscribed about Two hundred Dollars which was promised to be paid in whenever called for & after a further sum to complete the work if it was necessary with that understanding and with the promise of Two hundred Dollars from the Bureau which has been Received, Townley B. Robey commenced the house and has a very substancial House built of the best material and in a workman like manner, Eighteen by Thirty two feet and is finished except the Benches & Lathing and has paid for the Lumber, Carpenters work Entire so far about Four hundred Dollars & the Amount of money Received by him is $200 from the Bureau $41.50 from the coloured people, We have [[insert]]] made [[/insert]] every effort to get the coloured people together, to pay the subscription but in vain, They will not attend any meetings  We employed a coloured man George — Magruder to go around & try to collect after been out two days he returned to the Treasurer
