Esteemed Friend

Gen John Kimball,
I have been looking, and looking for an answer from thee in reference to assisting the colored people to build a school house on their church lot. Please let them know what thee will do for them as they are anxious to know. They have not heard of any teacher being appointed for their school. Please answer the above as early as possible, for, by so doing thee will confer a great favor on the colored people of this vicinity, as well as on thy humble servant.

With Great Respect, I remain thy friend
