Respected Friend
John Kimball, Thy letter of Oct. 29th come duly to hand, and my reply has been delayed waiting to get a definite answer from the Colͩ People which I have just received this evening - to the effect that they have employed a colͩ man as teacher, who as well as I have neen able to understand, came from Baltͦ and has been in the Normal school, and (they say) comes well recommended - They take him on trial for a month,-  We are all enjoying usual health, and in a very Anxious State of mind awaiting the result of to days Election, With Kind regard for thyself & wife, I am Respectfully
