States, in reply, that he will give the deed to the trustees with the exception of [[underlined]] Hagan [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] Scott [[/underlined]]: that these two are dishonest worthless fellows, and got appointed for the purpose of using the house for card-playing, whiskey drinking &c.

Proposes to substitute the names of [[underlined]] Anthony Jackson [[/underlined]], and [[underlined]] Basel Socher [[/underlined]] who contributed toward building the house, and are the most responsible colored men in the place.
