his family in Baltimore for two years. I have reported his conduct to the trustees, and they have responded by sending a man into my school yesterday to take the names of all my scholars who have talked about Fisher's conduct, and to-day they have held a meeting, and, as I am informed, have expelled them from the school without regard to age. The effect of this will be to destroy my school, so long as I occupy a room over which they have exclusive control. Hence the importance of my knowing whether they have entire control over the school house building. I would like to know also your view as to their right to expel my scholars over twenty one, and also those under that age, on such frivolous pretexts.

I wish you to understand that [[underlined]] I [[/underlined]] have never raised any of these questions, nor allowed any dispute to arise between me & the school authorities. I have used the utmost discretion, knowing the difficulties of my position.

I shall probably continue my school, as soon as I can get seats, fuel, &c., in the place referred to above. Please give me an immediate answer to my questions.

Very respectfully
