Dear Sir:
   Yours of Jan. 25th is just rec'd.  Mr. Nodine is mistaken about my writing him that the school house here is built,&c.
   In regard to reports of schools, I would say that in November the schools had not begun their winter term.  In December I began the school here in Charleston, assisted by Fisher; and the school at Tinkersville was also in operation; these I have reported, though late in the day, and you probably received them soon after writing your letter. I sent blanks for January to all the schools in operation, but have ^not^ received them yet.  I shall send herewith a report of my own school [[strikethrough]] here [/strikethrough]] in Charleston, and the others as soon as received.  The schools now going are, one at Point Pleasant (begun after holidays), one at Chappel Furnace, one at Tinkersville, one here kept by Fisher which I shall not be able
