The Soldiers Memorial Society of Boston, with which my School is classed, has no means except for Salaries - And as this Hampton School is entirely under my [[strikethrough]] Supervison [[/strikethrough]] supervision, I do not want it to fail this Season at least: therefore - as I know much has been done for the aid of such Schools, I appeal to the Bureau through you - for the rent of the room in Hampton to be transmitted through Gen Armstrong, he can give you all particulars - And I would be very glad if you would write immediatly and let the Gen know, what can be done to help the matter. 
  I wrote to Richmond last Summer about a School room, and they wrote me they could do nothing about it. Therefore I thought best now to apply to Headquarters.
