Washington Oct 9th 1865. Freedmans Bureau: Mr Kimball Super of Schools &c. Dear Sir: On Hall's Hill. 3 miles or 4 from Acqueduct Bridge, we shall soon have land secured (we trust) for a school house, large enough for 50 pupils, and apartments for the Missionary & other teachers if they should be required. At Falls Church a house for 35 pupils is required: rooms for teacher. [[underlined]] The colored people have secured the ground [[/underlined]]. Families here [[underlined]] own [[/underlined]] homes. At the "Bottom" - a deep Glen near Fort Ethan Allen - a house for 30 needed: rooms for teacher. Here also several families own homes.
