Dear Sir - I have the honor to inform you that I am authorised by the Executive Committee of the N.E. Freedmen's Aid Society to loan the use of the lot of land belonging to that Society, located in the Southern part of this city (at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and South H street, I think) — for the erection thereon of a building for school purposes by the Freedmen's Bureau.

I would say, however, that the Committee express a preference for selling the lot; and I have been authorised by Dr. Breed, of the Board of Trustees for colored schools, to inform them that the
