My office was open all the time she was in it, and people passing in and out all the time; and he never saw any bad behavior from her or any one else in my office, day or night. I have warmed an adder into life, and it has bitten me, and every one else it could. May Heaven forgive Mr. Fish for his ingratitude and meanness. He is a dirty scamp. I pity Mrs. Fish from my inmost soul.

I am Sir
Truly Yours

I believe I told you that I had received a letter from Miss Sarah Evans, a most estimable missionary, who was assigned rooms with Miss Collin, but soon after for reasons of her own took quarters with Minnie, and was with her during the time for which the charges were made, and was referred to by Mr. Fish as knowing to her guilt at Dr. Ps. office, writes: "I say that I was [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] knowing to the same." I may yet receive other testimony, as I do not wish to urge a thing upon my own word. But it is my firm belief that no person has claimed to know anything against Minnie, who has not done it from personal malice, and more with the design to injure her and us, than to accomplish a good to the people or cause.

Very Truly Yours
