Since receipt of your letter arrived my offer to teach in the evening, I have called thrice without having the pleasure of seeing you. I have suffered so very much from chills during the last six weeks that I am afraid as yet to venture much out in the evenings. I removed on the 1st of Sept to the Island & I do think that the malarial influence which is said to be so great all over it has had a great deal to do with my ailment.

Yesterday I was unable from press of business, to get the length of the Freedmen's Aid Commission Bureau in order to receive the necessary open  [[underlined]] sesame [[/underlined]] for the meeting this Evg. Could you therefore oblige me with two for my wife and daughter, but only if quite convenient..So
