Dear Sir:
I am naturally somewhat anxious to learn the result of the labors of your Committee of Teachers on the [[underlined]] reader [[/underlined]] question, and am encouraged, by your courtesy when I was in Washington, to address [[underlined]] you [[/underlined]] on the subject. If I [[underlined]] presume [[/underlined]] unreasonably on so short an acquaintance, please attribute to an error in judgment and excuse - 

I called, on two occasions, to see you, before leaving Washington, but failed to find you at home. On one of these occasions, I had an interview with Mr Tilden and left him a set of our Readers for examination. Mr T. at once informed me that I was [[underlined]] too late [[/underlined]], as the question on readers was already decided in favor of Parker & Watson's Series.

If not asking too much, I should esteem it a great favor to receive [[underlined]] your [[/underlined]] opinion on the matter, as also anything else of interest that you may feel inclined
