Esteemed Friend,
I have thy letter of the 4th enclosing statement of the distribution of books tracts &c sent by us The report is satisfactory: though not so stated I presume the distribution was to the [[underlined]] Freedmen [[/underlined]]: our funds being contributed for them we think it right that the articles we send should go for their benefit.

I do not find an account of a lot we sent by mail about 6 weeks ago - some tracts we published ourselves - one "Marriage honourable to all," the other "[[H?]] Carson" -Did they come to hand.

I notice the Librarian asks for a another donation. We are willing to send them if in thy opinion it will be best: Please give us some idea of the quantity We are sending in addition to the Testament - the Bible Reader & primer published by the Sunday School [[?]] & a first spelling book called Step By Step, a lot of which has been given to us for the purpose.

With regard to Tracts, should we send the same kinds we have already sent? or would new ones be preferable - how many of a kind should we send.

Some  members of our Society are anxious that we should lose no oppurtunity of distributing reading matter of this kind, and we wish therefore to avail ourselves of every
