Mr. Kimball:

The stove in our school room has been moved and it does do better, but the room is not at all warm even with this improvement. The crevices are to be stopped as far as may be. That will make it still better; but I do not think it can be a warm room there, with but one stove to heat it.  Cannot both stoves be left in the room and if the two fires make us [[underlined]] uncomfortably warm [[/underlined]] we will advise you of the fact and solicit the removal of one stove.

It is impossible to have a good school in a cold room. The children are restless and crabbed and indisposed to study and it seems as if we meet to little purpose save to have our powers of endurance and our tempers put to test.
