I requested Mr. M. to form an estimate of her capabilities in this regard, with such suggestions as yourself & Miss Stebbins, whose judgement, experience & antecedents generally, admirably fit her to express an opinion.

If you have no one now in W. I have one or two already in our Commission, who would be well fitted for the place. I wish to act wisely & not rashly & put if possible, the "right" teacher "in the right place". There is nothing to hinder us from sending our teachers at once to W. — The delay already complained of, resulted from a strange & almost unprecedented miscarriage of letters. There need be no further delay (D.V.) in the premises.
