Spring Garden May 4th 1866

Teacher, Dr. friend, I desire making application for a position as teacher in one of the freedmen's Schools in the South, and as I do not know to whom I should make this application or in what name it should be done, you will excuse me if I, a stranger to you, for asking you for the information, and if there should ever be an opportunity to return the favor I will gladly do it. will you please inform me to whom I should apply, also what is the school term and pay per month. enclosed you will find an envelope stamped and addressed to me,
