Our reasons for making these propositions are, that the building when completed and furnished will cost considerably more than we estimated when we began the enterprise, and we are not able to meet the expense necessary to complete it.

I shall be glad to hear from you on this subject.  If you will entertain either proposition, or suggest something else acceptable to us, I will visit Washington and give you further particulars respecting the building, the object of the school, and the prospects of its success when put in operation.
