Dear Sir,
The Board have offered us nothing further than the proposition of Capt. Shaws made before you left, & the probabilities are that they will not give us a thousand dollars & we can't well afford to take less to save ourselves. The house & lot have cost $910.00, the moving the building 460.00. The interest on that sum going on two year amounts to something. True we have had the use of the house & so have they & lot too, ever since its removal, & they have never paid a dollar. We are not anxious to sell the lot.
