Rev. John Kimball

Dear Sir:
Mr. Newton has returned, and says you told him that you left with me a list of teachers who were to be employed. I have no recollection of seeing the paper, and have not yet been able to find it either in your desk or mine. He says Mr. Bowen has a copy, but he is out of town and will not probably return until after you do.

I have just received a letter from Mr. Davidson. He says the Colored people of Davidsonville think your plan of School House too small. They want one 40 x 24, and propose to furnish a certain part of the lumber if the Bureau will furnish the rest. I shall take it to the Genl, when he comes in.

Mr. Wilmer has applied for lumber to build a house near Budds Ferry. The people in the vicinity have raised $111,50 but have not yet secured a lot.

The General [[insert]] had [[/insert]] ordered Maj. Brown to send the lumber for the Desks with the other lumber, before I recd. your letter, and it has gone.

I enclose your private letters.

Yours &c.
