Freedmen.
Now the Secretary of the Freedmen's Commission says, that you know of several school opening in West Virginia, if so, please inform me of them, also what encouragement there is for us, what compensation, and how we are to go to work. I presume that you have many letters like this; but our hearts are in this work, and we are anxious for a field of labor. I have most remarkable power of endurance and are near a [?] at [?] as damages.
