I have the honor to report that in obedience to SO. No 86 I have visited the various towns under my jurisdic- and beg to submit the following remarks regarding the schools in those places.

As the term will end on the 1st Prox. I shall offer no suggestions, as ample time between that date & Sept will be given to make any new arrangements that will be determined upon, suffice to say that a new school room in each place viz Charlestown, Sheperdstown, & Martinsburg should be secured either by building or renting, those now being used are entirely inadequate for the purpose and the cause of education must suffer so long as they are used  The school at Sheperdstown has been discontinued since April for want of a teacher  this should not occur again as they are in great need of a school at that place  The teachers I found attentive, and from all I could
