I have the honor to report for the information of the Ass't Com, that last week I visited Beltsville, Muirkirk, and Laurel in this Co, which resulted in my obtaining the following facts —

The Freedmen seem to be all at work, as none were seen or heard of unemployed.

The price generally paid is $10- pr mo. and rations, although some are receiving more, one man was getting $15- pr mo.

At Beltsville, there is no school in operation. The people are desirous of having one and I think one can be established there this season. There is a colored family who own some land just out of the town, and are willing to give a lot large enough for a school house,
