I have this day been to the locality indicated by the accompanying letter, and have seen the parties referred to, and find that they are very desirous of having a school there. The colored woman Annie Powell has been teaching a school there the past winter which however was a small one on account their being required to pay to support the teacher. She will still keep on, if the Bureau or some association will pay her so that she can support herself —
