Dear Sir
I have just read, in the "National Intelligence," of the 14th & 15th inst, a very interesting account of the Colored schools under your superintendence for the past year, & I am induced thereby to write you & as your kind assistance in the same field of labor. The late superintendent (the Rev. S Sea) of our school is about removing to the city of Memphis, and I have been chosen by the Colored people to assume the duties.

The selection was not made on account of my experience, or superior education, but because they knew the interest I felt in thier education, & general promotion.
