Point Pleasant Oct 2nd 1867 Dear Sir Our Board of Education are moving very Slow in providing a School house for the colored children in this place The dificulty is this The colored People bought the lot and had it deeded to Trustees for the use of the M E Church These Trustees the lease ^[[or agree to lease]] to the Board of Education for the Term of 25 years with the understanding that they are to erect a School House thereon to be used for church purposes when not occupied by the School Mr Gilmore objects to entering into the arrangement on the ground that if he does and they go on and build that they cannot get the $200.00 promised by you from the Freedman's Bureau Fund Will you bed so good as to write & state you opinion in the matter and what had better be done.
