Col. Jno. Kimball,

Dear Sir:
I was out of town when yours of the 3rd inst. was rec'd, hence the delay in answering.

We cannot give you any particular from of filling up the Deeds. In all cases the Cold. People employ a lawyer of the neighborhood in which the property is located, and they pay him for drawing the deed. All the trustees are Colored, & number from 5 to 7. When a school and church are in the same building, the trustees of the church must make a Deed to the trustees of the school investing them with the right to the property forever to be used as a school. We do have special trustees.

Very Respectfully Yours
