Col Jno Kimball,
Freedmen's Bureau,

Colonel:
The school-house at Rockville is not fit for the purposes of a school because of its extreme dampness, and I do not feel justified in sending a teacher unless we can get another building. Can you promise me a new building there?

Are the desks ready for school at Woodville, Prince George's Co.? As soon as the desks are put in we have a teacher ready to open the school.

Please answer as soon as convenient and oblige

Yours truly

Transcription Notes:
Improbement entered as it I think the lowercase "v" has a stylistic flair which simply looks similar to a "b."
