After conference with Maj. Genl. Howard, Commissioner, I have to request that you will if possible supply one third of the number of teachers required as indicated in the within communication. A copy of this paper has been referred to Rev. Crommond Kennedy, Secretary of N. Y. Branch A. F. and U. Commission; also a copy to Rev. Geo. Whipple, Sec. of the American Missionary Association. We hope for a favorable reply from each that the Schools may be started as we have promised.
