[[underlined]] Schools & Reports. [[/underlined]]

There is a short vacation now in all the schools. I shall see that they are all started again. There will very likely be some difficulty about it, on account of the pretended want of public money. The truth is generally, that the Boards & Trustees do the least possible they dare to, in the face of the law.

I can give tolerably full reports of the schools for October, but I cannot well do it now without blanks, without delaying this report.

I will give you prompt reports in the future. Please send school blanks, & stationary, as the latter costs thrice what it does East.

I regret the delay in writing on account of my sickness, which I felt [[strikethrough]] also [[/strikethrough]] painfully ^[[insert]] also [[/insert]] at the time; but I trust the necessities of the case will be satisfactory.

Very respectfully,
