Dear Sir,

We have a man and his wife of the Independent Meth. Ch. who are ready to act for the Freedmen - They want if possible to light upon a field where they can do a missionary work with the school - Mr. [[Glen?]] is a young preacher - a man of fair education - not a graduate - & of good sense - a safe guide & adviser - not brilliant & not dull nor slow

Have you any place for him - His transportation already procured will bring him to Washington. If you shd need him elsewhere can you get his transportation direct at W. or shall we wait to ask it- Name Rev. Jno. Glenn & wife Washington or Baltimore or Phila or whatever point you switch him off to whatever place you need him.

Please keep in mind the desire of this Ch. to fund a mission about their school & give him a field where this can be best done

Very trly yrs
