Sir:

Please inform me if you can upon the following points.

1st  The amount of taxable property in Washington County;

2d  The amount of School tax in the County since June 25th 1864.

3d  The amount received or due from Act of Congress from fines or any other source since the above date, for School purposes (building of School houses included)

4th  How much of this money from all sources has been expended by the School Commissioners for the building of houses for White children and the support of schools for them. And how much for the building of houses for Colored children and the support of Schools for them, and any other expenses for Schools since June 25th 1864.

5th  What is the estimated number of White and Colored children in the County of Washington D.C. between the ages of six and seventeen years inclusive.

6th  Was anything done for the instruction of Colored children by the Commissioners prior to the 25th of June 1864.
