Enclosed is a deed for a school lot situated some fifteen miles from this village; also a note from Capt. Simmons desiring to carry ^[[insertion]] the Tru[[?]] [[/insertion]] [[strikethrough]] it [[/strikethrough]] from Washington to the proper place.

The Colored people have $115.00 for building new houses, and they cannot obtain a great deal more than they have.

The Lumber should be sent to Chickamuxen Creek above Budal's Ferry, and if it is done immediately the house will be ready for use by the winter.
