Dear Sir
A severe illness which has confined me to the house for the past week has prevented an earlier answer to yours of the 2nd inst. I do not know the name of the party referred to but can find out when I am in Washington. I expect to be there next Tuesday and I will then ascertain it for you. If that is not early enough perhaps you can get it in this way. The party I referred to boarded with Mrs Whitney on F Street between 19th & 20th. The mother of the child worked for Mrs. Whitney. Col Rogers can inform you (I think) who Mrs Whitney is as she is the mother of Lt Whitney who was on Gen Dents staff with Col Rogers.
