I went to Crownsville and Mt Tabor this week but did not see Mr. Gross. He is coming to see me next week when I will be able to talk to him about the Schools. The church and land at Mount Tabor I find is owned by the colored people. They made every preparation to open a School in the church, and made arrangements for the board of the teacher and for the incidental expenses, and made application to the Baltimore Society for a teacher, but Mr. Israel replied that all their teachers were engaged. They are all ready to commence now and expect to have from 50 to 70 day scholars. I told them I would consult you as to whether to send them a teacher [[underlined]] now [[/underlined]] or wait for the fall term. Please let me know at once as they
