Humfords Creek School House
August 26th 1867

Bvt. Maj. R. L. Van Derlip

Dear Sir

I enclose to you another estimate for material to build a school House 20 by 30 I cannot say that it is correct but as near as I can get to it at this time. We have the Promise of the Land which we expect to get the deed tomorrow These people down here are not able to build without some assistance and as the Rev. John Kimball wanted to know the state of things I will drop him a few lines, and as I expect to see you soon I will be able to tell you all about matters and things

The lumber for this House can be landed in Hellen's Creek

Respectfully You servant
