The meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held in this city August 19th to 25th, was attended by the curator. In his capacity of editor of the "Nomenclator Zoologicus" he had prepared a paper upon the history, plan and status of this undertaking and handed the abstract to the secretary of the association, but on account of the great number of papers filed ahead of it, it was not read.

The work on the "Nomenclator" has proceeded as usual, but on account of Mr. Test's absence on leave, only 300 generic names were card-catalogued during August.
